Her published books include Wild Eyes; Go to Sleep, Hoglet!; Irish Farm Animals and It's Not Fair!. Her work appears across a range of publications, including illustration, maps and occasionally photography, working with publishers such as The O'Brien Press and Gill Books.
Her work is rooted in storytelling, with a love of immersive detail and expressive mark-making. She explores myth, imagination and the places where reality starts to behave strangely. She also enjoys being inconsistent, and regularly makes work featuring her furry (and feathered) friends, alongside nature-inspired pieces.
Alongside her illustration practice, Bex teaches and mentors developing creatives. She works with third level students as well as developing and guiding her own bespoke courses. Education is an important part of her wider creative life, influencing her own work through experimentation, reflection and an ongoing curiosity for new techniques and ideas. In 2026, Bex embarks on an exciting journey into the world of PhD study, focusing on narrative storytelling for cognitive and emotional intervention.
